About Us

Mediterranean Style Jamaica Limited was started by Michelle Bajraktarević, a born Jamaican and Florida A&M University magna cum laude graduate with extensive career experience in supply chain management/manufacturing and IT who has a network of experienced professionals in Jamaica (architects, engineers, land surveyors, lawyers, quantity surveyors, etc.) as a result of wanting a properly designed and solidly built home bringing the relaxing, romantic Mediterranean aesthetic and modern aging in place smart design features home to Jamaica, elements that were not found in Jamaica's current real estate market when the search for a home to buy started. So land was bought to build what didn't exist instead, and architects found to create the drawing to scale of the custom home that had been in the founder's head since childhood. The architects brought the dream to life and evolved it into a contemporary Mediterranean.

This dream home is named Raj Sunca ("Sun Paradise" in Serbo-Croatian language), a nod to the home's location in the sunny tropical paradise of Jamaica, its design letting in tons of natural light via the very Mediterranean style internal and rooftop courtyards and balconies, and the founder's marriage to Alen Bajraktarević, Mediterranean Style Jamaica Limited minority shareholder and a native of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Mediterranean country whose language provided the name of the dream home. Jamaica's motto is "out of many, one people", and so the name of the dream home reflects the summary of so many aspects of those who will live within: the union of Jamaican and Bosnian, the union of the Mediterranean and the tropical, the union of nature and the built environment, all coming together to form one dream home that is our paradise in the sun and a legacy for future generations.

At the Jamaica Diaspora Conference in June 2024, the plans already approved for the dream home in the parish of St. James were an instant hit with local bank representatives, one of whom declared after seeing the 3D video rendering of the concept "If you can replicate this around the island, we have investors for that!" And so Mediterranean Style Jamaica Limited was born in September 2024, focusing on the data-driven, tech-savvy development and interior design of places to live, work, and/or play that are:

eco-friendly
aging in place friendly (accessible whether needs change due to age, disability, injury, etc.)
nature friendly (biophilic)
future-proof
conducive to both living in as your primary home and vacationing as a secondary home or vacation rental

Mediterranean Style Jamaica Limited Accomplishments

2025: Designed & led build of timber-hybrid Azra Veridian studio prototype in Montego Bay which survived category 5 Hurricane Melissa (tied for #1 worst tropical cyclone in Atlantic recorded history) with the roof still attached and currently serves as the office for both Project Pickney Power & Mediterranean Style Jamaica Limited.

2026: Created custom Jamaica tradesman database and screening tool to bring the way tradesmen are hired and vetted in Jamaica into the 21st century and provide a centralized way to educate and help the tradesmen in their careers and lives on a whole:

Founder Profile

Michelle Bajraktarević is a Business Intelligence and Supply Chain Management professional with over a decade of experience managing complex data ecosystems and logistics for Fortune 500 manufacturing and technology giants, including Google, Coca-Cola Bottling Consolidated, and AT&T Mobility / Retail Operations.

Expert in navigating Big Data environments, Michelle served as project lead for the end-to-end data architecture and automation of quarterly inventory reserves reporting when a critical system interface project launched by another team failed, by engineering an alternate solution using custom SQL to create the necessary tables and datatypes from scratch pulled in from loaded planner data, cleansing and transforming the incoming data, and automating the dashboard reporting used by management and Google leadership to manage Google’s Fixed Assets and Technical Infrastructure inventory reporting

3. Digital Governance & Transparency

The Expertise: Proficient in SQL, Google Cloud, Google Workspace, and in synthesizing big data to create KISS visualizations of large, complex datasets.

PROFESSIONAL MILESTONES

- Technical Lead: Orchestrated data integrity for global supply chain migrations (Coca Cola Bottling Consolidated, AT&T, Google).
- Strategic Planning: Successfully leveraged Blue Yonder (formerly JDA) cloud database and eliminated 6 month backlog in the Retail Operations system migration bottlenecks in 3 months using agile methodology as a Technical Project Manager at AT&T.
